STV Server & Client issues

I am running SageTV as client and Server in 2 different machines, here are my observations and doubts

1. Client / Server does not have means to tell who is watching right now
2. In case I try to switch channels from client when server is watching it displays a error message for developer (not a general user error message). Hence I suggest that
a. There must be a means to display who is using the only available tuner
b. Errors displayed has to be clear Ex. "Sever is watching TV and you cant change channels" or any resonable text.

3. If we choose to see TV in client & server interchangably, the video would not be rendered unless you restart the application

One doubt I have is:
4. How to see the same channel in Client & server of SageTV??? if not why?

Are you saying you are running SageTV, full version SageTV somtimes referred to as Sage Server not SageClient, on two machines? If so this is not the way Sage is normally designed to be setup. Normally 1 instance SageTV, which handles all the logic of recording and playback etc, and Sage Client frontend for use on other boxes to access SageTV.

SageTV does monitor what it's doing. Maybe not "who" as in what's your name, but what processes it's running IRRC.

I'd expect a conflict error msg. If setup properly and you attempt to use more tuners than available a conflict pops up giving options.

You can, I'm doing it as I type. I have 5 tuners so to test and verify setup up 4 manual records to leave one free. Then on my HTPC Client went into TVGuide and started a Live Timeshift viewing engaging final tuner. Now all 5 tuners recording in use. Next I launced Client on my main workstation. Went into TVGuide and selected same show as be "viewed" on HTPC Client. No problem. Both Clients watching same show from same tuner. Both can pause, FF FR etc no problem. Next on main workstation Client went into TVGuide and attempted to watch a 6th show. Conflict pops up asking what to do for each of the 5 working tuners - cancel current recording and watch new show or do nothing and leave as is - if leave as is then goes to next tuner for conflict resolution.
