Comp USA: PVR-150 $70 MIR, <= 2/5/05

thru Feb 5, $69.99 ($99.99 - $10 instant - $20 MIR)

I buy my 2nd and 3rd PVR-250, and almost immediately, they release the cheaper 150 and phase out what I bought.

Hope this helps someone else, at least.

I think the main problems people have had is when mixing the mce versions with the non mce 250s and then having remote problems with the hauppage remote. Of course, i could be way off on that.

Im going to pick one up if my local circuit city has any so ill post on it later.

I have one PVR250 and two MCE150 and they work fine now. I had some initial problems, I think due to the old abit KG7 main board. All the slots filled with tuner cards, serial card, sound card, ethernet, that board seemed to have a problem with IRQ management. I bought a new/cheap nforce2 (chaintech 7NJL6) board, and everthing works fine.

Just installed it along with my pvr250. Works like i expect it to so far. Just remember to shut down sage service and to clear out all the drivers using hwclear before you install. Also, with the new remote you will need to replace the irremote.ini file in the windows directory. Opus has a link in his sig to get the correct irremote.ini file.

Oh yeah, im still using the old ir receiver that came with my 250. I am not controlling a cable/dish box and the the old one is a little longer than the one that comes with the 150.
