Remote jumps from top of menu to bottom and skips all between

Why does my remote control all of a sudden jump from the top of the menu all the way to the bottom skipping everything in between.

Remote: Hauppauge silver with Hauppauge IR
STV:Cayars17
SageTV: 2.2.4b
