Making comskip work faster?

I've got two questions about comskip (I'm using it with the Cayars (17) stv--which I love...but that's not the point )

1. If I fire up comdetect and it starts 'detecting', it only shows the comercials if I exit back to detailed info and press 'watch now'. Otherwise no "purple" spots and it doesn't avoid the commercials.

2. It takes a really long time to detect the commercials--I think it's because it's running at a low priority...how can I chang ethe priority of it? (SHould it be taking 45 minutes to detect commercials in a 1 hour show?)

thanks!

Have your perused and or searched the Cayars STV thread? Mucho discussion there concerning comskip/comdetect and how to use etc.

Decided to play nice and give you a timely hint to speed things up.
Check the times at end of your comskip ini file.

Can we just remove those lines? Will it affect playback and usage of Sage?

Thank You

yes, you can remove the "play nice" lines in the INI file. These were removed in my last release too.

I did however, make a change to the run.bat file so it would start CMD in low priority mode. This combination works well.

Download the latest version (top of my thread for info) and these as well as other changes are made for you.

I currently use your public STV to invoke CD on specific files only. Will this interface properly with this way of invoking it?

Or is this completely sperate from the stv now? I'm confused and there's not much info regarding it.

Thanks for your help!

Thanks for the answers I appreciate it!

Off of the topic, am I the only one that thinks the Cayers thread is a little too big? Maybe it's just me...

Big thread? That's an understatement! Yeah, it is a popular STV. Try using searches (maybe advanced searches mode) to find specific areas of concern/interest within the thread.

It's a wee-bit big, but has some good info in it.
