Pause from FF
I know this has been stated in other threads but I thought I would post my problem in this one since its pretty reproduceable. I am getting a pause (not to be confused with a shorter stutter) whenever I fast forward within a few seconds. I was watching tennis and I was FF every 30 seconds in between points. After about 3 of these FF's, I would get a pause or freeze. If I let it run, it would do the thing where the video all of a sudden gets really fast to catch up. If I just hit rewind and FF again, this would also correct it. I ran task manager while checking on this and noticed that this happened when CPU utilization got up to the 20's for SageTV.exe (the OSD part while running in service mode) instead of the 10-15 range it stays at.
I am running 2.2.4b and have reproduced this problem with the Cayars and Original STV's. I am also running Java 1.5 and NET 1.1. I can understand why multiple calls to the OSD would make the CPU utilization go up, which would cause a pause. However, 24 CPU really shouldn't cause a freeze like that. |

I think you misunderstood me. I'm assuming you are talking about your Nvidia drivers. I'm talking about what your MPEG Video Decoder is set to in the Detailed Setup -> Video section.

There is no beta NVDVD decoder on the nVidia website. The latest version is 1.00.67. There is a 30 day trial of this version which you can purchase but there is no beta of the decoder. There are betas of the nVidia video drivers available.
From the website: NVIDIA DVD Decoder Trial Version: 1.00.67 TRIAL Release Date: December 20, 2004 Gerry
