Navigation sounds...

I'm using the SageMC STV and I notice that the navigation sounds have disappeared. I hear one of them every now and then.

Anyone else experience this? Have any solutions?

Thank You

I've never been able to get navigation sounds to work in this STV.

Don't think any other STVs support this -- I'd REALLY like this feature globally.

It's funny cause they were working perfect for what seems like a long time... then they just disapeared.

I read some line in the irremote.ini file about turning on a confirmation beep when a remote button was pressed. I'm not at a computer with sage on it so I can't check but this may be customizeable. I.e. you might be able to assign a different sound to each button on you remote. That's probably not what you were hoping for but it should work outside of any specific STV. You would just need a collection of audio files to assign. Also keep in mind that if you are using a 350 card the audio would only come out your pc speakers as windows sounds do not go throught that cards audio out.

The Beep option in irremote.ini just plays the Windows Default sound, so it will play the same sound for every button. Setting it up is covered in the irremote.ini document in the first post of Hauppauge link #1 in my sig lines. Sometimes the Default sound option is not present in Windows. That doc covers the XP reg entries to add it back, which can also be found here.

Can you tell a button to do more than one thing in the irremote.ini? I have a button mapped to run the bat file to remove my orphaned files, and one to restart ir.exe. Could I have the buttons in the [sage] section do their regular sendmessage command and then point to a program or an audio file to launch some command line wav player, or will irremote only allow one command per button?

You can have multiple commands for a single button: just put one right after the other. If one fails, the next command won't execute, though. So, you could do that to have a different sound file played for each button press, but I'm guessing it would add a bit of delay to everything since there is one more thing to load & do.
