In the US, but want PAL VHS to DVD

Hi,

I'm having a bit of a struggle with this one and haven't found any good solutions after searching.

I have a PVR 350 and a PVR USB2.
I'm in the US, so my TV is NTSC and I record just fine on both tuners.

What I want to do is take some old VHS tapes that are PAL and record them to my hard drive and then eventually to a DVD.

I can capture through the composite in on the USB2 and I get sound and video, but the audio is garbled. I've tried Sage and WinTV2000. WinTV2000 seems to work better, but still not very good.

Also, if I play around with the input selection in WinTV, I can get the sound to play fine, but there is no video.

Has anyone done something like this? Can I encode in NTSC on my 350 and PAL on the USB2? Or better yet, can I have NTSC on the coax in on both, but
PAL on only the composite in on the USB2?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.
