VIA bad SIS good...

Just thought I'd add that I've been running Server 2K3 since 2.0 cam out with no issues. Running on a ECS K75S non PRO, XP2100, 512MB ram, 700GB storage. It runs 24/7 and drives the primary big screen with a Nvidia 5200. Its also running Homeseer, IIS, the normal Media MVP server software [works just fine as long as you alter the services to use a log in account with sufficient privlidges]. Only 1 tuner, but this system NEVER crashes.

FYI...

I just installed the Service Pack 1 release candidate for W2K3 server. Data execution prevention caused a few problems until I figured out how to add my applications to the safe list but that shouldn't be an issue if you're only using it as a server. Sage works fine.

I have a 2003 server that is running Sage 2.1, and it does crash.

From once to three times a week.

Not too sure why, but I guess an OS re-install is needed first.

I just finished moving sage from xp to server 03. I just got it up and running so we'll see how well it does but running on xp I didn't have any problems so I don't think I should on 03. I'm running 5 tuners in this baby and it's my center server for the bedrooms and living room. We'll see what happens in the days to come.

my intel PERLL 865 mobos are all rock solid with any configuration and hardware I have ever thrown at them.

my present server is on one of these w/ 2003 server/2-v16 pvr-250's/2-usb 250's/1-v15 pvr250/SS2-DVB-S

runs great!

Out of the 8 or so PCs I've built, the only boards I've been happy with have been Abit boards, based on nForce or Intel chipsets.
