How can you use a Mapped Network Drive?

Ok, I am new at this. But I cannot find an answer to my question from doing a search.
Here is my setup. I have a PC in my living room with a smallish 30gig hard drive. In the basement I have a computer which I use as my "media server". There is no video monitor hooked up to this computer. It is strictly for storing video files for watching on other PC's in the network (I have another PC in the home theater room that I will eventually load Sage Record on with the client software). I have 2 issues. First, I have included one directory from the mapped network drive as an additional video directory. Will this work? How will the software begin writing to this directory, if this is possible.
Second, I have attempted to list additional directories on the mapped network drive as import ibrary directories. While the setup screen accepts these additions and shows them listed, none of the files in those directories are listed in the Libary screen. What am I missing?
Thanks,
Ralph

In regard to the files in the library directories not showing up, have you tried quitting and then restarting Sage?

I believe the mapped network drives are treated by the OS as if it were local drives, so as far as application software is concerned, a mapped drive is the same as a local drive. I would just be concerned that the network bandwith be able to handle this data traffic.

Restarting SageTV

I have restarted SageTV a number of times. I have also shutdown and restarted the PC, but to no avail.
