Challenge DCT2524 digital cable setup with Sage

I'm attempting to setup the digital cable box model DCT2524 for use via PVR250 Network mode in main HTPC. The stupid box only has Video output options of composite or coax so coax into PVR250 it is. (With composite directly to TV.) Really dumb to not even have SVideo IMO since it does have audio digital out for 5.1 support!

Problem is setup wizard is not giving an option for RF channel so I've not figured out how the heck to "use" it in SageTV. If I "view" channel three in the wizard what the cable box currently on comes up as expected.

WinXP Pro SP2, SageTV & Client 2.1.10, latest Sage Recorder.

I've confirmed it works recording in Sage Recorder fine, ch3. I've read every post in the DCT Plugin Thread multiple times but the plugin directions seem both for an older version Sage and nothing referencing networked mode PVR. (DCT.exe testing does not change it's station but that's most likely the serial port not being enabled on the DCT2524 and a different issue which USB-UIRT will solve if I can't get the idiots at Comcast to enable it.)

Any thoughts or ideas? I'm sure it's something simple I'm missing, but I'm missing it!

Oh, I installed the DCT dll etc on the HPTC Client. Maybe it needs to be on the Server. (wouldn't help DCT.exe not changing channels of course but maybe that's the problem in the setup wizard... will give it a try....)

(edit) Added reg setting and dll to Server, stopped and started Sage Service, RF channel still cannot be selected in Wizard.

Question Digital Cable to Networked PVR, anybody doing it???

There must be someone with a digital cable box interfaced through a networked PVR encoder. What's your setup secret! It's not working for me.

I'm sure you probably already did this, but just to clarify and get the obvious out of the way....

Did you:
1. select "TV Tuner" as the "input on the video capture device"?
2. Then "use external receiver"

Then Sage should ask you to input an RF channel.

Yes & no. I'd been attempting to reconfigure the Network encoder which had been being used for analog cable, selecting TV Tuner & Cable etc never getting a chance to choose channel. Duh, delete and add it back. Just did and now I got RF channel choice. Some days I'm just slow... Hey, it is my first time changing an encoder from using one source to another so I'll cut myself a wee bit of slack.
