Import file types going back to the default

So here it is. . . I'm trying to add .ogm (ogg) files to my Import Library. Every time I add the .ogm extension to sage.properties and start up Sage the properties files goes right back to the way it was before I added the extension (i.e. no ",.ogm). . .

Any ideas?

Am I really the only person to have this problem??

Why would my sage.properties file not be retaining the changes I've made? Anyone, anyone?

If you are using the service, make sure you stop it too before editing the properties file.

perhaps you are somehow causing corruption of the properties file by editing it. If this happens, SageTV will use the backup copy it automatically creates, which would also be missing your changes.

What version of SageTV are you using & which property are you changing? Maybe that would help someone see what is going on too.

Hmmmm. . . Not sure how I would be corrupting the properties file, but who knows. Could be. If that's the case and I move both the properties file and the backup out of the SageTV directory will a new one be created automatically when I re-launch Sage?

I had the service turned off when I was trying to edit the file so I don't think that's it.

As for my setup, I'm running 2.1 with the SageMCE STV.

One thing that I'm a little bit unclear on is whether I need to be editing the sageclient.properties file too.

If you remove the properties files, new ones will be created with default values.

What property are you changing?

I would think that sage.properties is the only one to change, since the core is what handles imports, but you could always try the client prop file out of curiosity.

I have not tried adding a file type for importing, so maybe someone who has done that will come along...

I haven't looked for this, but I wonder if this might be getting reset after a new install/upgrade of SageTV also.

Well, in a fit of frustration I removed Sage from my system and did a fresh install and everything works as it should.

Something must've been out of whack, which is a little weird because just last week I had done a fresh install of XP and Sage so things should've been pretty clean, but who knows. . .

Thanks for the suggestions.

Best,
C
