Losing audio after fast forward

I'm having a problem where after I fast forward I lose my audio and the only way to get it back is to stop the video and restart it. I've tried the intervideo audio codec and the mpeg codec but nothing seems to help. I found some similar threads that were quite old but none of them helped me either. Does anyone have any more info on this problem?

specs:
athlon xp 1900
hauppage 350
maddog 7.1

RE:Losing audio after fast forward

I have had similar problems too. I even lose video sometimes. I can usually get it back by pressing play a few times or rewind/fastforward.

I have noticed similar issues when I get a little FF happy or RW happy. Tend to notice it with the mpeg decoder from Hauppauge. Consider trying another decoder. People seem to love the one from Nvidia

I had a similar problem that I solved by updating my hard drive controller card driver.. Its a shot in the dark, but probably worth a try.

I had this problem when I used a codec different from the one that came with my ATI AIW card. Once I installed the Ravisent(I think) then FF and RW work fine. Well, it does take about 5-10 seconds to re-establish audio sync when FF'ing 5 or more clicks (50sec).

I think Pez was refering to using the AIW for TV-out. The RAVISENT decoder is the one that comes with the 8500DV. I use the same card.

I'm using sagetv 2.1 with intervideo decoder for video and audio. I've also tried the mpeg audio decoder.
