Can't adjust start/stop time of a recording

When i go into the livetv guide and select a program for recording later that day, i always want to adjust the start/stop time to be make sure i get the whole show (it's called padding i think...?).
What i do is, i select that particulair program and then select record. The menu changes to recording options, and there i have the start and stop adjust options. I select the start to 5 minutes earlier and then the stop to 10 minutes later than the programmed time. On both accounts i hit enter.
When i view the show later on when it has been recorded, it still stuck to the times from the tvguide and not (my) adjusted time.

What am i doing wrong here? I missed quite a few minutes of a show this way

It is set to record that one particular show, so it outlines only its entry in the LiveTV Guide as set to record, but the padding will be included. If you go to the Recording Schedule screen, you will see the padding time included in the total recording time listed at the top of the screen. If it shows the schedule in Parallel mode, you will see the outline extend beyond the show's time slot.

When you play the recording, it will start playback at the show's scheduled start time, but you can rewind back into the start padding. The OSD during playback only shows the time when the shows was supposed to air, but to can ff/rew beyond those limits.

You are completely right Andy, thanks!

When i played back recordings it just starts playing at the exact start time stated in the guide. It never occured to me to rewind. I just thought that was the start of the recording. I can now see that padding did occur on all recordings....just need to rewind first..

Thanks again.
