Support for Suspend to Ram

Are there any plans to support wake from suspend to ram for SageTV. Just to clarify, what I am looking for is the ability for SageTV to wake the computer from STR in order to record scheduled recordings. I am a recent convert to SageTV and I love the stability and the dual tuner support. Thanks.

power saving options: suspend and irblaster

Hey is there any way I can suspend to RAM, or "stand by" my computer and have it wake up when it's time to record stuff?

(Looks like you can't do it with a WinTV card, but I thought I'd ask anyway )

On that note, I'm also using the Actisys IR-200L to tune my Dishnetwork 301...Is there some way I can "give all the control" to sage TV, and have it power on and off the receiver when it records stuff?

Thanks!

This isn't something that we would implement for use with the IR-200L because SageTV wouldn't get a confirmation back whether the unit is on or off. That's why most of our users just leave their box on 24/7 so Sage can just send the channel commands when necessary.

once again, i'd like to be able to give sage "complete control"...i'd never touch the reciever ( i promise! ).

ie. sage could always assume the reciever is off if it's not already recording things. ( because i chose to give sage complete control), and before tuning the channel, power it on.

and at the end of a recording power it off...

just a though...

I'm with you, jman. Maybe SageTV can speak to Windows Scheduler or another 3rd party app that can take care of the waking/sleeping actions? My HTPC is enclosed in an armoire & I'd rather not have the computer running 24/7 due to heat. There's gotta be a way.

Another vote here for wake from STR support for scheduled recordings - I understand that Intelligent Recording would be lost, but it would be great to have the option.
