Video Out issues with PVR350
I am having a problem with the Video Out from my PVR350 and SAGETV?. The OSD does not always paint correctly and has snow (or frozen Video) on the area's that are not painted. Using the Arrow Key to move the next button cause the active button to be painted, but not the rest of the screen. I am also getting issues where live and playback video is freezing on the PVR350 video out.
The OSD and video work correctly on the computer monitor, I just have the problem with the hardware decoder and output. WinTV2000 works without a problem. I have tried the latest drivers from Hauppauge and the latest beta drivers from SHSPVR and these did not help. I have also tired the latest beta of SageTV and this improved the situation, but did not completely resolve it. I live in Australia and am I using SageTV in PAL mode. Does anybody have an idea what is causing my video out problem and how I could resolve it? Thanks |

maybe heat or a power supply issue
Sounds like maybe a heat or power supply issue.... You might refer to other threads that talks bout these things.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have two identical systems and both show the same problem, so I don't think its a power supply or a hardware issue. I have tested your heat theory, and keeping the PVR350's heat sink surface temperature at around 25C made no difference.
WinTV2k does not have any problems with the hardware video out, the problem only appears to happened with SageTV? |

Hi,
I`ve got problems with my tv-out too. I think these might be related. Please look at the images in my (starting)post ( http://forums.sage.tv/forums/showthr...4161#post84161 ) |

PVR 350 TV-Out - SAME Problem !!!
Hi
I have the exact same problem. Have tried the same thing as you - win2000 works with tv-out but not sageTV. Have tried also new beta 2.4 - same problem. Alså tried different nvidia drivers and beta - -same problem. But the problem is after I shiftet to new PC, pentium 4 3.0 ghz 775 socket and asus p5ad2-e motherboard and Geforce GT 6600 PCI-Express. Before hardware change i had no problems at all. But on this new system - SageTV is not working with tv-out no matter what I do. I have tried overlay/vmr7/vmr9 - different codecs... same problem. On the monitor everything works fine - but not TV-Out.

You have an Intel 925 based chipset on this motherboard. The 350 has always had problems with Intel chipsets (with exception to ancient ones like 440BX). I take it your old motherboard was either Nvidia, ATI, or maybe even Via?

Yes your right. the problem must be the 925 chipset.
NOw I think I will swap the hardware with my "OLD" PC and use the asus p48sx motherboard instead. My conslusion is that the new mb from asus = 925 chipset must be the problem. that's crap. You buy new hardware and where does that take you ? That sucks :-) Thanks for your post.
