Maddog Entertainer 7.1 inquiry
Okay. . . This is kind of a broad question, but bear with me if you can. . .
I currently have a PVR-350 with a digital cable STB running into it. For audio out I'm using the onboard S/PDIF connection on my motherboard (Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe nForce2). My STB has an optical S/PDIF out. If I were to get a Maddog Entertainer 7.1 sound card, which has an S/PDIF in and out, would I be able to run the audio from the STB into the soundcard and get better quality sound than the stereo signal from the coaxial cable hook-up? Would recordings from the PVR-350 have audio? If anyone can make sense of my question and has some insight please let me know. Thanks, Chris |

nope you will have no sound with recording and audio sync issues every time you paused SageTV
and most probably an initial audio sync issue also when using the pvr 350s video output you will probably get an audio sync issue with spdif output but this one maybe fixable by looping the pvr 350s audio output into the sound card and outputting through spdif output but using the spdif output from the STB is not going to work easily you might just as well connect the spdif output from the STB to your reciever and some svideo or composite output just do not change the channel while SageTV is recording |

I had a hunch it would be a problem. . . Thanks for the quick reply.
