Sage 2.1 records everything

I realize that this topic has already been covered but I have yet to find answers!

I am relatively new to Sage, I just installed 2.1. My problem is that it seems to be recording everything on the last channel I was watching.

Intelligent recording is off. I always put it in sleep mode, yet when I come back it has recorded MUCH more then what is in my "scheduled recordings" menu. how can I stop this? I am quickly running out of space.

I'm using the PVR 150 MCE in Windows XP SP2.

How are you ending you're LiveTV session, are you closing the file first or just putting it in sleep mode? Closing the file should stop the recording, does for me all 3 Clients. If it doesn't for you something must be fubar-ed. If all else fails wipe the HD and do new clean install step by step from the WinXP ground up. Ugly I know, but sometimes it really does work.

How do I "close the file?"

Well I see the "close the file" option, and that's not really doing anything.

With keyboard hitting escape key or right clicking the mouse with pointer in picture while watching LiveTV pops up menu window, one of the options is close file. Depends on which remote you're using which button is the equivalent. (If all else fails, read the manaul, it's included in pdf format in your Sage install directory. )

If you're watching LiveTV, have the pop-up menu with close file option and selecting close file doesn't close the file you are currently watching you definitely have a configuration problem. Either contact Frey Support or wipe and reinstall.

There is also a property you can check in Sage.properties:

mmc/encoders/XXX/never_stop_encoding=true

XXX would be some number for an encoder. I'm not sure why this might get set to true, but if so, set it to false.

Also, before doing a complete reinstall of _everything_, try just deleteing the properties file and/or reinstalling the 150mce drivers.

Just to recap:

Reinstalling the PVR-150 MCE drivers and rebooting seems to have done the trick.

Thanks.
