Sage 2.1 Poor Quality - Up or Downgrade?

Hi

After having installed 2.1 and seeing the amount of stutter I consider it to be a downgrade from v2.0.

What would you guys recommend, a downgrade back to 2.0 or does the 2.2.3 beta address any of these issues?

Cheers

Steve

Try upgrading to 2.2.3 and check it out for yourself. On my machines it was much closer to native 2.0 performance then 2.1. 2.1 on my machines stuttered like crazy and had times of very long pauses where the system seemed to freeze up for 20-30 seconds at a time. 2.2.3. fixed all these issues for me.

BTW, if 2.2.3. doesn't fix these problems for you, you can still go back to 2.0 but I'd suggest trying the newer version first.

2.2.3 still has stuttering and pausing issues (not VMR9 like) even with overlay for me that were not present in 2.1 and 2.2.2.

I put 2.2.3 on and it solved all the stuttering problems that I was experiencing in 2.1.

I'm curious about the stuttering problem. Could you describe just what happens in your systems? I have version 2.1 running and my system seems to lock up after about 1-2 hours of playback. The playback is choppy and the only way I can get it to work again is a reboot on the server. I originally thought that it might be my hardware but now I am wondering if it is Sage.

I would guess it's Sage.

I'm guessing that although many people have experienced this stutter it is hardware specific.

I've installed the 2.1 software on my Florida box and have not experienced any such problems. Both run PVR250's so I guess we can elimiate that.
