Quick question before I try the beta

I'm about ready to try the new beta, but I have a question. From the FAQ:
Quote:
A: Go to your SageTV directory, usually "C:\Program Files\Frey Technologies\SageTV".
B: Once there make a copy of each the following 3 files and place it in a backup directory(any directory you can easily find).
"Wiz.bin" "Wiz.bak" "Sage.properties".
C: Now that you have backed up these files you will be able to restore your "Favorites" and all your personal SageTV settings if something should go wrong.
Okay, if I do this will Sage sill have information about all of the programs I have already recorded, as well as my favorites and settings?

If I just copy these files into SageTV directory after installing the beta, will the beta be able to read my old settings?

Copying them won't affect anything, it's just a recommended procedure for upgrading. Those files are not backward compatible, meaning they are upgraded when you install a new version. You back them up so if you want to go back later, you can.
