Enjoy the highest quality video with hardware accelerated MPEG-2 encoding
is really just hardware accelerated encoding ?
cause SageTV currently needs full hardware encoding

Installed one the other day... works great! I now have 2 Hauppauge PVR-250's and the Diamond PVR-550. No problems and video quality is every bit as good as the 250's on my system.

How did you get the Diamond PVR to work w/SageTV? I've tried various settings and registry edits and I can't get any live TV. I have a Radeon 8500 video card.
I'd really like to use SageTV instead of BeyondTV if I can get it working.

Thanks for any info!

I had no installation problems whatsoever. Which version of Sage are you using? Are you able to see the tuner within Sage at all (setup - source setup)? I think support showed up around 2.0, but not positive.

Sage 2.2 Trial - I had played around with it in the past with an old AverMedia tuner. I think some of my settings were still in the registry, I went back to "default" for most settings, and now it is working well.
Still need to play with the settings a bit. I'm running with these settings:
Renderer - Overlay
MPEG2 decoder - Default
DXVA mode - Default
DXVA Deinterlacing - Weave
DScaler Dinterlacing - Disabled
Audio Default
3D Acc - Enabled

I've got a Radeon 8500 (non AIW or DV), I'm trying to determine if I can use HW decoding on the card for rendering.

In this setup I get around 50% CPU util on a AMD XP 2000+, 1gb RAM system, regular IDE drives. Not bad, and already it looks much better than the crappy picture Beyond TV was giving me.
Sage TV may have a new customer very soon - I especially want to check out the Client setup.

Thanks!

WOW - just got the ATI Cyberlink decoders loaded and CPU is now down to 20%. Time to do a little tweaking!
