Unhappy Can I use SageTV service in western MASS?

Just starting to learn all this, I have a WinTV PVR-250, live in Westfield MA area, is the service available and can I use the service? Just want to do recording of shows and also save some on to VCD's or DVD's. Is anybody in the area using it? Also, which software application would be best for me to use?

Dan or Jeff could give you an official answer, but you can just download the trial and use it for like 2 weeks. This includes the EPG service. Even if your area is not directly supported. You can chose a nearby area, or even use the DirectTV listings. You can then remap the channels so they match your local channel # lineup.

As for editing I use Wombles' MPEG2VCR.
For burning I use either Nero of Ulead's MF.

Best of luck.

You can tell if your area is covered by looking at our service page (http://www.sage.tv/service.html) and seeing if you receive your "broadcast" stations from any of the areas listed. If you don't, you can always pick an area close by and remap the channel lineup to meet your lineup as justme stated.

Nope. Boston. I set it up for Lee, MA using XMLTV. Works great, although its a huge resource hog. Takes 4 hours to download and process my guide every night, and its a 12 meg text file that spits out the other end. But once I had it set up, it worked fine.

We support the Boston area, so if you have any questions about receiving your specific lineup, let us know.
