Huge Software Errors
Hello,
I recently purchased the Hauppauge PVR-150 package including SageTV v. 2.1. After downloading the drivers I could find/software for the card (they must have forgot to include the driver CD-rom when they shipped my stuff), I got hauppauge's wintv working fine. Next, I set to the process of setting up SageTv and have been met with a lot of issues. Every time I try and watch tv without changing video mode to "overlay", it just errors saying that there was a sage.playbackException and that is it. I'm kind of getting frustrated, as the quality seems to be visually lower than Hauppauge's software when using overlay mode. I'm really excited to get this setup and working right, because the software looks incredibly slick...so if someone can point me to the right post, I would be greatful The only potential issue I could think of is direct x issues, but I think I have > 9.0, because I ran that installer and nada -Thanks |

Since overlay is working, we can be fairly confident that your problem is not with the PVR-150. Getting other renderers to work (VMR9) is possible, but things should look just fine with overlay once configured.
So, attack two problems: 1) why does the video quality not look good 2) why isn't VMR9 working. For #1, try viewing the files that are recorded by SageTV in another player that is capable of playing MPEG2 files. Also, what video decoder are you using? |
