Does the MCE remote work outside of MCE
I am debating about picking up one of these remotes but I don't have MCE on my system.
Does girder support the MCE remote? |

Yea, it works fine w/Girder but AFAIK you need usbuirt if you want TGB to work.

Another way to get the green button to work with Girder is instead of using the MCE Remote plugin, use the HID Remote plugin. That way you can also use the green button. The only thing you won't be able to do if you use the original MCE Remote IR Receiver is to use the blasting (ir transmitting) capability of the MCE Remote receiver with either plugin.

So if you use the HID remote plugin, all buttons are available with the MCE beanbag receiver? That mean the number keys & arrows could be programmed to whatever you want as well? (for say subsequent presses of the number keys to cycle through their repective alpha keys)?
I've used the MCE remote with the MCE plugin, just never the HID plugin...

Check here for getting the green button working: http://forums.freytechnologies.com/f...st.php?p=80548
You do not need USB-Uirt to get the MCE remote working with Sage. This is a misnomer that has been floating around. In fact, USB-uirt seems to capture two codes for each button while the native MCE reciever gets only one. However, if you have a STB, you need USB-uirt if you want to use it with Sage as only MCE is able to use/controll the IR emitter of the MCE remote. BTW, I believe the new version of Sage supports the MCE remote natively. If not Girder is a must. |
