Media Center Vs. Sage Client

Based on the press release, why would somebody by Sage Media Center over Sage Client? THey sound like the same product, but Media Center costs $50 more!

Sage client is just a client, it doesn nothing without a "server" (Sage Media Center, aka SageTV). The server, controls all the tuners, does all the scheduling/recording. Client just provied remote access to them.

Sage Media Center seems to be just a new name for SageTV.

Not really. If you hunt around enough you'll find that even way back with SageTV v1.4 there are references calling it Sage Media Center. Just nobody ever bothered using the more fancy name and just called it SageTV instead.
