I have a 20 foot coax cable running from the wall to my TV402U, and then 2 more 20 foot cables going from the PC to the TV/entertainment center for video and sound. So yeah, I have some cables running across the floor, and I have to point the remote at my computer desk.

Since you already have the M402U, why don't you pick up a remote and the USB-UIRT and try out the whole setup with the SageTV Trial. That way, you can see how the whole thing would work without purchasing a SageTV license. If you don't like it, then you can try out other PVR software until you find the one that best matches your needs.
I would LOVE that, but I can't just "pick up" a remote and USB-UIRT. They appear to be mostly online items. I haven't found them at Radio Shack or any of the major computer/consumer electronics stores around my area. I've looked at quite a few like Best Buy, CompUSA and Fry's Electronics. And even Radio Shack, which usually has oddball items such as these. So, it is not really possible. I wish it were.

Of course we're all happy to help you out with technical and equipment-related questions wherever we can.
Andy.
I'll be sure to redirect the questions to the company "officials" then.

And thank you for your willingness to help. This is a great community. I feel very welcomed and I feel much better purchasing in general, even if it is not from Frey Technologies in the end that there is such an enthusiastic and generally helpful community here and abroad (other sites). I got so many quick and very enthusiastic and helpful replies. I'm very impressed.

Thank you all.

Oh, one more question. Is there a way to change where SageTV stores recorded TV shows? I 'd like to store it on a second hard drive already in my system. I do not want it recording into My Documents/My Videos. My system hard drive is only 60 gigs and my storage drives are much larger in capacity. So I'd like to use them instead. Any ideas? I could not find this option inside of the settings in the 15-day free trial.

You set your storage directory(s) via Setup>Detailed Setup>Video Directories.

Outvit: If you go to the SageTV Online Store, you will see some links on the right-hand side for Refund Policy and Store FAQs, along with a link at the bottom for the Frey Contacts page if you want to ask Frey some questions.

Also, there is a manual in the SageTV directory, in case you didn't know that.

That is interesting. I went to Setup --> Detailed Setup ... There was no group called "Video Directories" and I looked around. Did not find it. Is it possibly not in the 15-day free trial edition?

It's the second item in the right-hand panel when you have the first option on the left selected.

Thank you.

I hope this DivX mode is as much as it is made out to be in the PX-TV402U and the PX-M402U. If it is, it will definetly be what I use for my recordings.

I'm still experimenting with DivX Highest vs MPEG-4 High. They each seem to encode certain things well and other things not so well.
