I have been sitting here playing with the picture library and it occurred to me that this slide show would be really neat to have as an option for the screen saver when Sage is sleeping. It would be extra cool for those folks who have a nice big flat screen TV hanging on the wall like a piece of art anyway.
A while back I found a program called “Amaze Image and Multimedia Screen Saver” from
http://www.xequte.com/ . It has just about every feature I would want in an image screen saver including transition effects, background music, and video screen savers. I just point it at a folder where I keep photos and video clips from my digital camera and let it go. It is really quite impressive. About the only things they didn’t get right is the ability to automatically include sub directories from a specified source location and to be able to mute video clips during playback. (can be annoying if you are trying to sleep) I wrote the authors and they said that they would add those features to their plans for the next release but they haven’t included them yet.
Because I’m using the PVR-350’s TV out, I can’t use this software for my HTPC screen saver. It would need to be replicated inside sage. However, Amaze it is a good example of what would be ideal. (IMHO)
I found a thread about this in the software forum but it didn't catch much attention. Would this be possible in an STV?
