Haupauge PVR 500 & 2 cable boxes?

Is it possible to setup a Haupauge PVR500 with 2 cable boxes? Is there some header or something that I'd need?

thanks!

I think right now you'll have to build your own, I believe SHS has pinouts posted on his site.

The PVR500 has single input with signal split internally. So will only work for single source. One of it's limitations...

I just happened to be looking at his forum too... Screenshot of Prototype Front A/V Panel, and I _think_ this is the pin reference here.

I perused the referenced link, doesn't appear to have any thing to do with dual inputs to PVR500. Composite to Svideo adapter yes and some other interesting stuff, but how to circumvent the PVR500 internal signal splitter no...

Come to think of it doesn't seem possible to just build some external plug or header etc. to alter the external hardwired input through internal hardwired signal splitter. Sure could likely be done with cutting and soldering etc. to modify the PVR500 to have two separate inputs. But no strictly external cable solution. And no solution that wouldn't immediately void any warranty or support. But an interesting challenge! If I had the spare $$$ it'd be fun to attempt but still in re-evaluating mode since being recently outsourced.

Look a PCI A/V bracket for PVR-150, PVR-250 and PVR-500
Now as for two cable boxes if your box allow you setup diff channel RF with a switch like 3/4 just set one on 3 and other on 4 and your all set for now.I can say for but I think the pin reference for 250/350 are diff from 150/500 if look at PCI A/V bracket you see there are jumper

mdmint: I'm not sure if I'm misunderstanding you or if you are missing something about the 500. (Or, maybe _I_ don't understand what I thought I understood.)

See: WinTV-PVR 500 Screenshot (This is a DualTuner). As far as I know, the splitter is only for the coax input into the TV tuner; the svideo input does not go through a splitter. There is one external svideo/composite input + pins for the 2nd svideo/composite connection internally. With an external adapter (like SHS just posted?), I think you could run the svideo outputs from two STBs into the 500.

SHS: Is what I wrote correct?

Another way of do this is one STB setup on S/Video which be the 1st enocder and 2nd STB on RF Tuner output on channel 3 or 4 depend on switch in the rear of your STB box if have one which be on setup on 2nd encorder.
I haven't posted the new board layout which is only a little bit diff from the first screenshot.
If you used RF way just loop 1st STB in to 2nd STB RF input then take the STB RF output to PVR 500 Antenna input and your done it just matter of setup SageTV.

Well I'll be hornswoggled. Ya'll are entirely correct. Coax no, other methods of input yes. Learn something new in this complex arena almost everyday!
