Video Hickup
I am getting slight hickups in the video. This is both with live viewing and when you play the recording back. The audio sounds fine. Ill define a hickup as a few frames missing.
This occurs on playback in both Sage and Windows Media Player. So I belive it is being recorded with these hickups. I have Sage 1.3, Windows XP, Pent 4 /2.2 mhz, 1 gig ram, NVidia Geforce 2, PVR-250. I have all the latest drivers installed for the above equipment. My question is which settings if any would be the best to start adjusting in the Sage setup to smooth things out? Thanks in advance.... John |

First, what card are you using?
Then see if you still get the hickups using the software from the manufacturer to record. If you do, you'll have to use their troubleshooting or give us some more information back here for help.

Dan,
Thanks for the quick reply.... I am using the Hauppauge PVR-250. Your (now obvious good idea) advice to try the Hauppauge supplied video software was a good one. Their software has the same problem. I will go to the Hauppauge site and see if they can give any advice on setup, drivers, etc.. Thanks again.... John |

For the benefit of others in this forum who have a similar problem I am posting what solved my problem.
I had downloaded the latest Hauppage driver for my PVR-250 but I had not installed the latest decoder. hcwsmd03_21023.exe. If you install this decoder be sure to note that you must remove the old decoder prior to installing the new one! Control panel/ add remove programs/ remove Intervideo Filter SKD for Hauppage. then run hcwsmd03_21023.exe....... My video is now smoooooth !!!! John |
