Directv D10 Serial Control
Anyone have luck controling Directv D10 Sat box via seria control?
If yes or no, could you report your specific model: D10-100 D10-200 D10-300 D10-400 Looking on some TIVO boards, possibly 4 different manufacturers (reason for 4 different models) and only confirmed successful serial control is with the D10-100. |

Thanks for the reply, if useful to anyone else.
The D10 with manufacurer code of 100 works fine. I called directv and told them I understood that -200, -300, and -400 recievers do not support direct serial control. They could not guarantee which model would be delivered and agreed to credit my account so I could by locally. Apperently Circiut City and Best Buy sell the -100. |

It took me 3 to 4 hours to get sagetv to control my d10-100 receiver. Basically, the wiring diagram at http://dtvcontrol.com did not work with my computer. I had to change the wires associated with pins 2 and 3.
That is, rather than using the diagram at http://dtvcontrol.com DE9 4p4C 5 = Yellow 2 = Green 3 = Black I had to use DE9 4p4C 5 = Yellow 2 = Black 3 = Green That said, the latter wiring allows sage to control my d10 box, but there are buttons using the dtvcontrol software that do not work. |

That's very interesting. I just posted earlier on another thread, that I could not get Sage to control a D-10 due to the fact that it uses a newer control set, which uses different hex codes. What control dll are you using?

I have no idea what dll I am using. Here are some random facts, hopefully one of them will answer your question. I am using the most recent version of sage (beta 2.2.6). I have not downloaded any STVs, and in the setup wizard I specified serial control from com1. If one of those random statements did not answer the dll question, tell me where to go to find out.
