Per-channel recording start/stop offset.
Some channels start a little early, some start a little late. This will allow all my shows to begin recording at exactly the right time. The favorites manager's offset feature doesn't quite solve the problem, because the same show may be on two different channels, each requiring a separate offset. |

Hi!
Thanks for the tip, but if you mean setting the time- format in Regional Settings, that doesn't work. My system clock is displayed in 24h format by default in Swedish Regional Settings, but this has no effect on SageTV. Regards, Andreas |

If Sage used this, they could still use the HH:MM format internally, if they wanted also. Lauren Last edited by laurenglenn; 07-08-2003 at 08:51 AM. |

Channel Logo Appearance
It's very very minor, but I would like to see the channel logos appear in the guide centered in the vertical (within the button). As of version 1.3.8, if they are extra wide, they default to the top of the button.
thanks,

While we are on channel logos, how about letting us see the channel logos next to each program in the Sage Recordings list. If I use the SageGuide they are in there next to each recording, but not in the Sage Recordings list.

Here is my priority list after 5 days of use.
1) Force channel change 2) Ability to adjust clock from Atomic settings say in 1 second intervals (1 - 120) would work for me. My cable company seems to be a constant 30 seconds off. 3) Rewind command to start program from beging. 4) Category support for both Sage recordings and library. For recordings using the TV guide category would work for me. |

I would like to see the following:
SageTV Client/Server Authentication with User/Password Protection General Time Offset for Head and Tail Recordings. Most stations are not sticking to their schedul on the second

SageTV recording engine should be a windows service.
The recording engine should run as a windows service application that is seperate from the sage viewer.
Its just wrong that Sage will stop recording if its window is closed. It would seem cleaner to make every viewer a "client", even if running on the same machine. While we're at it, WHY and how much of Sage is written in Java? I'm guessing the guide is written in Java and not using DirectX acceleration? When I run the guide in fullscreen at 1600x1200, performance is awful. |

Disable ScreenSaver, power managment
When watching any video, SageTV should disable both the Screen saver and power managment. Since I'm running Sage on a PC who's only output is the TV, I'm worried about screen burning, but I've had to disable both the screen saver and monitor shutoff settings to keep them from kicking in while watching TV.
This is pretty standard in both video games and media players. |

Hello
I like your Client setup But if at all possible a moveable control strip, like the windows taskbar, because in the netherlands where i live most foreign programs have subtitles. And they are at the bottom of the screen Peter |

how about some user interface to the intelligent recording database? don't care if it's win32 down+dirty. the ability to change don't like and watched status would be great.

Hi PaulModz,
You said: "SageTV should disable both the Screen saver and power managment." SageTV already has an option for this, but it's hidden in the Sage.properties file with no GUI control: ui/disable_screen_saver_and_pm=true screen_saver_wait_time=1200000 The first line will disable your Windows screen saver and power management settings, while the second line tells the SageTV screen saver to come on after 20 minutes of inactivity. pb

A few suggestions:
1. I second being able to browse the TV guide while viewing and listening to the current channel (either see-through or picture in picture would be OK) - and not just being able to see whats currently on on other channels, but also being able to see whats on later. 2. OSD for Hauppauge 350 :-) 3. Option to turn off Live TV and recording display (but not the menus) on the PC window, while continuing to display the video output on the Hauppauge 350's TV-out (stops unecessary wasting of CPU on software decoding). 4. Ability to sort TV guide in different ways (eg show all movies), and generally make it more flexible, easier and more intuitive to use - see Tivo for ideas. |

How about an option to do an automatic search for an actor when you click their name in the Detailed Info display? The screen already shows the episode info and the actors already. It would be great to be able to just click on the actor's name and then find other shows that they're on in the next week.
Also, the ability to add an actor as a favorite or to manually enter a show name as a favorite would be nice also. For example, when they announced on SciFi that TimeCop was going to be on in a few weeks, it couldn't be added as a favorite until the show was listed in the EPG. If I could've added it in advance, it would record any show that was named TimeCop when the show *did* appear.... Lauren |

How about a "synchronize clock with server clock" option for SageClient? For some reason, I could never actually keep the time on my Sageclient machine synchronized with my server, even with the "synch with program server" option turned on...

This isn't a feature request, but a request to see how the feedback is going.
Would it be possible to see how the requested features will be incorporated? I'm not talking about "version 1.5 will get PVR-350 on-screen displays" but rather a list of those features that will be added in the future. Possibly quasi-prioritized? That way you could see how well your prioritization matches the user community's. If there are some features that the community really wants (i.e., multiple FF and RW speeds, like some DVD players do) then we could see when it is likely to be implemented. If a feature is low on the list, maybe we could have a chance to "vote it up?" Just a thought. - Jonathan p.s., I really am a fan of multiple FF/RW speeds and having the guide be translucent over live TV. My TiVo really spoiled me! |

As there are now "cheap" mpeg4 devices available. Any idea if this will be in a future version?

I agree with fidget. It would be really neat to see what is actually in the works and what we can expect to see in future releases.
Thanks for a great product. A couple of things I would really like to see are. 1) The Guide - I would love to be able to see the preview picture of what you're watching when you hit guide. Just a mini picture in the corner 2)The ability to enter a channel number while in the guide and the guide moves to that channel 3) Skinnable interfaces Last edited by kevthor; 07-15-2003 at 09:00 PM. |

Jeff, I have a request for a client feature. As I travel a lot, I use my laptop for movies on the plane. Might it be possible to allow the client to run when not connected to a server, and also provide a local library.
For example: I attach a laptop to the network and run the client. Via a special client preference sage knows what shows I like to travel with. These shows are loaded on my laptop into a local library which the client can access when not connected to a network. I disconnect from the network, my shows are on the laptop, and there is a great sense of joy This would save me from having to burn a lot of discs. Also, for people who have long comutes via train, they could carry the early morning news with them. Obviously this is leading to a version of sage which does not require a tuner card and allows for local storage, halfway between the present client and the present server. There are ways to do this outside of sage, but I think part of what makes sage so nice is that everything sits in one enviroment and the inner workings are transparent to the user. |
