STB & issuing channel change for record?

Is there any way to get SageTV to re-issue the channel change code before recording a channel when it is already "tuned" that channel? Example- STB from cable Co is crappy, manages to hose up on the cable link, magically reset itself and default to the cableCo infomercial channel 2 "info channel". However, Sage thinks it still tuned to channel 169 (I've got raw cable to the PVR tuner inputs for the lower 100 channels, using STB for only digital channels above 100 and using the Svideo input). Sage records program-length segment of stupid info channel (which is nothing but a CableCo infomercial) because Sage was already watching channel 169.

It would be a great feature to issue the channel change codes again, based on the specific input signal on the 250 card again (i.e. only the S-video input) before going to record it even if Sage thought it was already tuned to the current.

Any ideas would be helpful, maybe this belongs in the Requests sticky?

-Thanks

Close SageTV (and the service if you are using that) and edit Sage.properties. Try setting this property: mmc/always_tune_channel=true

See p. 178 of the v2.1 manual for a short description.

Andy, is this a global setting or can it be applied to individual tuners? It is on "true" by default for me. But unlike gateslinger, I think I want to turn it off. The reason is my STB has an annoying OSD pop up everytime the channel is changed. There's no way to turn it off on the Motorola DCT2444. So this is not something you want popping up especially if are archiving the show to DVD. Besides, I haven't noticed any screw ups with the IR blaster yet, so I think its safe to turn it off.

I could be wrong, but as far as I know it is global, since it is just that one setting. It doesn't look like there is a similar setting for each tuner in the properties file, but maybe I just skimmed it too quickly.
