How to cancell a scheduled recording in 2.1

Config: SageTV 2.1 WinTV PVR 150, Comcast Cable TV Service.

I am playing around with sagetv. When I look in lookin inside the SageTV Recordings I see some scheduled recordings. Am I missing something, I can't find a way to cancell sheduled recordings? Also if I want to record a tv show do I have to have sagetv running or is there a way to set it as a service where it runs in the background? Thanx

There are a couple ways depending on the type of scheduled recording.

Manual recordings (red outline)
Just press record again or go into the info and hit "Cancel Record"

Favorites (white outline)
You can either mark them as "Watched" or "Don't Like"

IRs (no outline)
Mark them as "Don't Like"

With 2.1 (this is sad, I'm not 100% sure if the service came in .1 or .2 ). Anyway, without Sage running, go to the Frey Technoligies program group and run the SageTVService control, then you can enable the SageTV service. If you use any network shares, you should change the default user to one with a password.

Also, if you do run as a service and use any network shares you must use UNC paths, not mapped drives.

The service came in v2.1... and you can check out the manual (p. 14) to see some details and caveats about it.

To add just a bit about having to have SageTV running in order to record: see the bottom of page 22 in the manual. If you do not use the service, you have to have SageTV running in order to record, but it can be sleeping.
