Thumbs down BUG: Audio not recorder

I'm trying to use the SageRecorder to record from my PVR350.

Very often the recorded file DOES NOT HAVE ANY AUDIO.

I have left the PC on with the sageRecorder and SageRecorder Video windows opened.

It's drammatic !!!

Can anyone help me?

What happens when you try to select a different Audio Decoder? You can access it through Setup.

What do you mean with audio decoder ?

the Mpeg file does not have audio... played back from the SageRecorder, WindowsMedia, PowerDVD.

Is that what you mean or is something different I'm missing ?

Thanks,
Max

Can you clarify a little more of the problem for me? Does the file have no audio if recorded by SageRecorder and then played back by any of the above listed applications? If so, what happens when you record something with the WinTV application instead?

(The audio decoder setting is used to change the decoder that SageRecorder uses to play back audio. Sometimes when people are experiencing audio playback issues it has to do with the audio decoder they are using)

Here we go with the description:
1) scheduled a record for evening at 23.00, duration 2 hrs, SVideo in
2) left computer on, Sage on, preview ON... gone to sleep
3) in the morning I go back to computer and found that the file was recorded
4) opened with SageRecorder: no audio
4b) closed SageRecorder
5) opened with WindowMediaPlayer9: no audio
6) opened with PowerDVD: no audio

Looking at stream properties (from 5 and 6) it looks like there was no audio stream

7) ReOpened SageRecorder
8) preview On: audio working
9) record 5 minutes clip
10) open clip: audio ok
11) scheduled record of another film (13.00, duraton 1h50m)
12) in the eveninv I go back to computer and found that the file was recorded
13) opened with SageRecorder: no audio
13b) closed SageRecorder
14) opened with WindowMediaPlayer9: no audio
15) opened with PowerDVD: no audio

I'm not able to use it anymore.

Hoping this helps...

Max

I have seen this same problem - audio missing on a recording. It happened once (so far), specifically on the FIRST recording done with the app solely on the taskbar (lower right), without a window on the screen.

Specifics:

HW: Dell Dimension XPS T600 (600MHz P-III) 256MB RAM, 180GB disk, Hauppauge PVR-350
SW: WinXP SP1 (patches to 1 May 2003), Hauppauge patches to 1 May 2003

Hauppauge app was NOT RUNNING at the time.

The recorded file was in NTSC(fair) encoding, and in 2 hrs was about 200MB shorter than others recorded in that format and length of time. This strongly implies that the audio is NOT PRESENT instead of merely not being played.

A quick 10-minute recording (same format) taken when this post was seen DID have audio.

The audio decoder setting is (always) "Intervideo non-CSS Audio Decoder for Hauppauge"
