2 Receivers, Different Lineups

I'm trying to figure this out...

I have 2 Dish Receivers... 811, and an old 4900. The 811 has HD channels... the 4900 doesn't. How can I make this work so when I pick an HD channel it will tune the 811, and never the 4900. They are basically the same epg data EXCEPT the HD channels. I know I can't watch the HD, but I can tune it then change inputs on the TV. Is anyone doing this?

They have added locals to my area now.. will Sage/Zap eventually add these channels to the lineups?

Thanks

If you're changin inputs on your TV to watch HD, then you probably don't want to be using SageTV to change channels for you.

Actually I would like for it too... THen I would know if I'm bothering a recording or whatever... I think it would be easier to teach my wife to hit it on sage then change to input #1.

I don't think this is possible, but I thought I'd ask!

The way to do that is to pick separate lineups for each tuner. For example with my cable I could pick Analog Basic, and Analog Extended, and then create individual channel configs for both tuners. I'm not sure if there is more than one Dish feed or not.

Stanger... I tried this... but it seems to affect both tuners regardless. Do I have to choose a different input... comp/svideo? I chose basic line up for my non-HD receiver.. removed the HD channels from it, and they disappeared from the EPG.

Should this work?

When you go to Setup -> Channel Setup, are you asked which lineup to change, or does it go directly to the Channel setup screen? If it doesn't ask you to choose one, you are still using a single lineup for both tuners.

Yes I did.. I'll try again just to make sure...

but I was right to understand the extended and basic are seen as 2 seperate lineups, and not just what channels are initially choosen?

The 2 lineup basic an extended are really one in the same lineup, I think the extended line just has more channel enable when first download the EPG, but you should beable I think you need setup the Dish Receivers 4900 without any HDTV enable in lineup and on other Dish Receivers 811 with only the HDTV channel enable in the lineup with all other disable I think that should care of your problem.
If that work then your good to go but just one I think you will beable to record two channel at same time.
It always good to have matching receivers.
The best thing to do is to email jeff and see what other option he may have for you that may work better in your case.
