				IRMan Problems

Hi, I'm trying my best to set-up IRMan so that it controls my SageTV Client, however I sit holding the remote button for 5 minutes and it does not seem to respond to the programming. Do I need to purchase the IRMan remote for this, as I was going to try and use my old Tivo remote.

I have got the software installed and it works with Media Player. Thanks Ron |

The IRMan should work, I've used it through my Laptop for Demos. Did you perform all the Commands setup through the SageTV Client? Where is it not responding?

Did you enable the IRMan in Detailed Setup? Do you have it set for the correct COM port? |

I have enable the IRMan in Sage on Com 2, as installed. I then shutdown Sage load it back up and go to the commands menu in Details set-up and try to 'Link Remote Control Button to Sage Command' at this point the pop up telling me to point the remote at the IR and press a button appears, so I do and nothing happens to Sage, I know it hasn't crashed it just appears to be awaiting the IR code. As a debug I have loaded the IRServer program and looked at the history menu, everytime I hit a button the IR code appears in the box. Should I have not install the IR software? Thanks RC-S. PS I have recived the Actisys command modules I order last week today, only to find they do not work with the PACE 4000 series decoders for Telewest or NTL!! Oh well Sky here I come! |

What happens if you try a different remote, like your old TiVo remote? What remote are you trying to use through the IRMan?

I'm currently using the old Tivo remote I have, but I have tried a few remotes and it still does not pick up in sage, they all work with the IRServer though.

Well, the system is now working nice and simple really, I had the IRMan Server running still and it took all the commands for itself and didn't let Sage have a look in, so now my Tivo remote commands my Sage box!!

you really should look into girder. i never bothered to install the irman software. i'm happily controlling Sage, WinDVD, WMP, start menu, and a few other things. Girder rocks, especially with a remote with "soft" buttons, like Sony RM-AV3000.

Wow, that's a remote. I wanted to use the built in support as I am only going to be running Sage on my client system, and seeing as it is intergrated it makes the most sense. Thanks for the heads-up.
