GeForce 3 TV out

OK, I am working on getting my sage box all put together, and I am using what I have lying around for parts mainly. One of those things was a 3D Prophet 3 (GeForce 3) for the graphics card. I just tonight hooked it up to the TV and I am very dissapointed in the video quality. I don't know that much about the interacting of the PC with Tv video, as they don't really seem to mix. So I am wondering if Sage's shows are always like this or if it is more likley my TV output card. I am also running 2 Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-150MCE capture cards.

it is most probably the limitations of TV out on video cards
you can tweak the picture most of the time to get it pretty good
but it will never look as good as using VGA or DVI to a HDTV

Well, until that time that I finally splurg and get the HDTV with one of those inputs is there any graphics cards out there that have a TV output that is comperable to at least what my TiVo is doing now? I mean I guess there isn't much point to recording everything at DVD quality if the connection takes most of the quality away...

The picture quality you're looking for can be found with either a Media MVP or a PVR-350. I personally prefer the MVP because then you don't need the pc anywhere near your tv, simply the MVP (which is fairly attractive.)

Yes, actually I have a friend that just got an MVP and I was waiting to see his results with it. Right now I am just trying to get the main sage box set up which is intended to serve a client. It will be located in another room eventually. So I will still need to build a client PC or get an MVP if it really works out well for my friend.
