Sage won't record favorite

Ok, I have SageTV recording a show called "Calliou" for my child... I have double-verified that I don't have these episodes recorded already and they are not... I have added, removed and added/removed four times, but still it is not recording it... Also, there are no coflicts as well...

Thoughts?

What method did you use to add the show as a favorite? Did you highlight the show, look at its details & use "Add Favorite", or did you type in the name as a keyword fav? I'm asking because it is spelled "Caillou", so on the off chance that you typed in a keyword spelled like it is in the first post ("Calliou"), it won't be found.

If you go to the Favorite Details screen, what do you get when you click on "Additional Airings"?

It looks like I spelled it correctly. There must be something strange with this show?!? This is the only one that seems to not record.

As I mentioned above, what does it show when you click on "Additional Airings" while on the Favorite Details screen? What are the options on the Favorite Details screen, too?

(BTW: why not just attach a jpg instead of a word doc?)

Here are the additional airings... It clearly shows that there are many shows to record, but it is not recording any of them...

Unless I'm not seeing things clearly, every single one of those episodes is italicized, which means they are all marked as having been watched. SageTV won't record them again (unless you do a Manual Recording for them).

There are some options in custom STVs to mark all the episodes of a series as unwatched again, if you want to do that.

Oh, I did not know that. Thanks! I was working under the assumption that when I told Sage to record First Runs and repeats that it would record *anything* that I did not have recorded already. Hmmm, that's something else... I guess it would be nice to have an option for Sage to Record "First Runs, Repeats, and anything I have watched before that is not in my recordings already"...

First Run and ReRun status are details that should be marked on shows in the EPG (check the details on a show & you should see one or the other, at least if you are using the built-in EPG in the US).

For some more info, see this FAQ entry and the one right after it. The v2.1 manual also covers some of this regarding creating Favorites, on p. 25, and in the description of the Watched command, on p. 154, among various places.

So, wait a sec... How far back is Sage going to keep track of the show IDs? Won't the Wiz.bin get huge after a while?

Mine's under 8MB and I've had it going since at least 3/3/04 (that's the oldest airing in it). That's 8502 airings in the DB.

Yes, wiz.bin will continue to grow. Shows that have no interaction data (watched, don't like, currently recorded, etc.) are removed from the database, but it will always remember what you've watched. malore's Viewing History (in a few STVs) can clear all such marks & then those shows will be removed at some point in the future.

I like it because as long as shows have unique IDs, I don't have to worry about them recording again. But, if I _want_ to record them, I can clear their Watched flags.

To go along with the previous post... I've got 13375+ airings in my Viewing History that date back to Oct 4, 2003. The file size is 7.4 MB.

Maybe your shows have more details, or maybe you have more imported media, favs, etc.
