Audio Not in Sync w/ PVR 350 TV Out

I'm not sure if this is driver issue or if it is related to sage but I have been struggling with the audio going out of sync on my pvr 350 using the tv out. I was wondering if anyone had any solutions or if there is a certain quality setting that is better to use. Thanks

I've been looking at some of the options for recording qualities. Does anyone know what audiocrc changes. It seems you can turn it off or on but I have no idea what this does. -Rob

I too have been trying to solve the problem, and I might have a bead on it now. I think it's heat related as are the lockups. I've noticed that the longer I use the system and output to tv the more likely it is to be out of sync.

So, I've stuck a fan in the case and it seems to have helped. Now I'm going to get a slot cooler to see if it will solve it all together for full time usage.

It may have to do with the way you are hooking everything up. The "tv-out" of the 350 has both video and sound output. I'm betting that you are not using the 350 audio-out, however, and are instead hooking your soundcard output into your tv (or receiver, etc..). This will give you problems with audio sync; I know because I had these problems myself. There are two ways to fix it that I know of. One, you could just plug the audio-out of the 350 directly into your tv. However, you won't be able to hear any other computer related sounds this way. The other is to hook the 350's audio-out to your soundcard's audio-in, and keep the soundcard's audio-out connected to the tv as is. You must, however, set sage to use 350 hardware decoding only, or you will get an echo-like effect. Also, make sure that the audio-in of the soundcard is set to appropriate volume levels and such. I can't speak for the other guy, but I can guarantee you I was using only the PVR-350 outputs. I've been around computers long enough to know the pitfalls of doing otherwise.

As of today not a single instance of audio being out of sync, not a single lockup with OSD and TV out enabled and lots of FF/REW usage. So far I'd say the fan has improved things enough that I'm going to buy SageTV.

To clarify the problem for other people, what I think he was experiencing and I was for sure is the timing between what a person says and when you hear it was off.

With mine it was probably close to 1/2 second difference. You could see a ball hit the floor, count 1/2 second and hear it hit the floor. It looked like one of those early Godzilla films if you remember the dubbing, mouth moves no sound. Mouth stops you hear it.
