100% CPU bug completely repeatable!
Finally have a completely repeatable way of invoking the dreaded 100% cpu bug.
I have the latest sage running, along with Girder and TVTool 7.2. Watching TV in full screen mode. TVTool grabs focus to pop up a window saying "your 15 minute trial period is over, please send us your 12 bucks so we can eat." BINGO. EVERY time, it forces sage to eat 100% cpu. Its an elegant fail, in that I can three finger salute and kill the process, and just keep going, but I thought this might explain things? |

So........are you going to pay the 12 bucks?

Actually, I had paid my 12 bucks, and it was an issue with the software, but I've had the same thing happen now anytime anything grabs focus.

What happens if you playback an MPEG2 in WMP and then do the same thing that spikes the CPU in Sage? Does it spike the CPU in WMP?

That I will have to try. Never even used WMP on this machine. I'll try and duplicate it tonight and let you know. Which means, of course, that all of the sudden the issue will fix itself. Just like taking the car in.
Now that I've PAID for everything, of course, its not happening regularly anymore. Lets see - 60 for sage, 12 for tvtool, 20 for divx, 40 for winscheduler.... this is starting to add up!!! I've spent more on software than I did ont he PVR card! |

No WinDVD and PowerDVD? Theatertek?
Heh.. I feel your pain. I've paid just about as much for software on my HTPC as I have on hardware.

I have powerdvd from my latest dvdrom drive purchase (full version with a key and everything!) Haven't tried theatertek.
I'm still saving my pennies for a nice 32 inch 4:3 HDTV. Good ones are just starting to get to the magic 3 digit number realm. |
