this is not unreasonable to ask for the option to have them listed

Actually I think it's the other way around - Dish Network provides ZAP2IT with its programming info, problem is they don't/won't provid the PPV info.

I think if anyone can do this Carlo can! Since he has a paypal donation account now, how much would you be willing to donate to have this feature? I'll start the donation promise off at $10 - assuming he accepts the challenge.

EDIT: BTW in case you don't know, by Carlo I mean Cayars...

Well, I know I could do it as I've looked into it a little bit. I'd suggest waiting for 3.0 and see if anything has changed in this release first! If nothing changed then I could do it.

However, and this might turn some people off. You would have to stop using the built in EPG updates. It does not appear as the two could co-exist as I would have to replace the import plugin with my code. In a nut shell this would work similar to the xmltv plugins but I would write this specifically for SageTV so it would work much, much fast and more or less "out of the box" without all the setup involved in xmltv.

Let's see what 3.0 does when we get the official annoucement of features/timeline.

I'd throw in 10 as well as long as the EPG data is as accurate as Zap2It's for all other channels, and we still get First Run/Rerun status.

Carlo,

If you make it work, you have $10 from me too.

I.

The data itself would come from Zap2It. The First Run/Rerun thing shouldn't be a problem as I think that information is available too.

Sounds good to me!! Carlo, do you really think that 3.0 will change the vendor from whom it receives its EPG data from? (IE: Zap2it), if not then there is no way 3.0 with have the pay-per-view data since the issue is a zap2it problem and not a sage problem, correct?

Kevthor, I no nothing about this myself, but I would highly doubt they will be changing this in 3.0.

After reading your message I just went and looked at my digitial lineup on Zap2it's website and it didn't have PPV info there. This changes everything. I never actually looked at the site and a few others have told me the data was there. I've only been looking at it from a code perspective.

So my question is everyone/anyone that has said the PPV info is available? Where you seen this? Also are you talking about PPV or OnDemand?

Yeah that is the problem. Glad you figured it out before you spent some time coding this just to realize that Zap2It doesn't even have the information.

TitanTV.com has all PPV listings for most major providers (I believe), and another thing that may help you is I believe titantv allows you to download a javascript version of the epg data??

That's weird because it does for me. I can't send you the link since it uses cookies and your personal preferences to bring up the listings you want. But I have mine set to Dish Network Minneapolis and it has the PPV data information located in the 500 channels.

Try checking my lineup for me and see if you can find the PPV (make sure I'm not loosing it)

08322 - Digital or Digital Rebuild will be my lineup depending on which site you use. Let me know the channel numbers if you find the PPV.

What city and what provider?

*EDIT*: I just checked Digital Cable for Minneapolis and it has some PPV listing. For example it lists Harry Potter on channels 806-810 which is a PPV right now but that is the only one listed.

**EDIT2**: I just checked Comcast Digital Cable for your zipcode and it looks like the PPV channels are 700-705 yet they all report off air?

Cayers: CES is now over and I don't think we'll be getting a different source for EPG data, so are you going to work on this? Please let us know if this is something we can expect to see! Thanks!!
