Actisys IR-200L ... how to get it working with SageTV?!?

Not sure if this is right... being in this forum.. but thanks to frey I got my IR-200L thru today... just trying it now... unfortunately when trying to do the setup i just get

"SageTV was unable to detect the specified Infrared Transceiver.. on the specified port.. Please ensure that no other application is using that device or port. Press Select (Enter) to continue."

I HAVE installed the drivers via Add Hardware.. as recommended with the instructions that came with it.. I dont know if this is the problem.. so am going to uninstall those now

Using WindowsXP... would appreciate a quick reply but i guess that depends if anyone who knows the answer is online

Thanks

Changing that warning to tell you NOT to install the drivers with the actisys would be useful i think

Jim,

That's my fault, I normally include a sheet with the shipment that says "Not to install the drivers". I must have forgotten to put one in the package.

Sorry to cause you the frustration..

I have tried it both ways, with only Sagetv and no drivers and with drivers using add hardware wizard.

I still can't get it to work. It cannot enable the device. I have uninstalled and installed SageTV three times now.

I'm using WinXp Pro with a Haupauge WinTV 350 with the latest drivers.

I have not been able to find the uninstall hardware in WinXP.

Any suggestions?

Brad

I was up until 4:am this morning trying everything. Just now I uninstalled the actisys in device manager. Went through the setup of the actisys and now it works. Took me less than five minutes.

Computers...what we do without them?

EDIT: Once again i type too slow. Glad to here you got it working though.

START>Settings>Control Panel>System then select the "Hardware" tab then click "Device Manager". I know there is a quicker way to this menu but I can't remember right now. Your PVR350 will be under "Sound,Video and Game Controllers". Your serial port is under "Ports(COM & LPT)". I don't have an Actisys so I can't help there. But make sure you don't have any exclamation marks for the Serial port you have the Actisys hooked up to.
