Control via remote freezes till mouse is moved

This is a really weird issue. Sage up to 2.0 worked perfectly, however, Sage 2.1 is having issues with my remote (haupauge and usb-uirt) and how it responds to remote commands. It is caching all the commands but not actually acting on them till I move the mouse. I can hit the up key on my remote 12 times... nothing. Jiggle the mouse, and all of the sudden, I see the program list go up 12 times very fast. What could have possibly changed that would cause my IR not to function unless the mouse is moving? Seems like something is blocking..

I just upgraded to 2.2, and I've started having this problem as well.
*however* I will note that people might assume this was combined with 100% cpu usage, (which I have experienced in the past) but that this is NOT that behaviour. Once, my IR.exe did go to 100% and had to be killed, but normal experience is that suddenly the remote dies, and until I go and click in the sage window on my PC it stays 'stuck'.

I am using the 350 tv-out, and I have my remote set up for focus independent sage use. This, to me, is new behaviour as of 2.2.
FWIW.
