USB-UIRT & Hauppage Remote not working

Hi...

I just got my USB-UIRT today and have installed the drivers, etc.

In both Girder and SageTV I can't use the same IR command twice in a row.

For intance, under Sgae (after mapping the up key, for example), to move up twice, I have to press the up key four times.

Same with Girder. If I set an event, it will learn the IR code, etc but will not respond to the event twice in a row. If I press different keys on the remote back to back, everything works OK.

I have tried this with Sage (with no girder running -- just the Sage USBUIRT plugin) and with Girder running without Sage.

This is happening with two different Hauppauge remotes (both the old one and the new 45-button remote). It is fine on another remote I swiped from a TV set

Anyone have any ideas?

PS: My UIRT is: USBUIRT0038-Z S/N 113338

The Hauppauge remote uses a toggle bit IR protocol -- it alternates between 2 different codes sent for each button press. You have to learn each button twice in a row w/o pressing any other remote buttons in between.

First..... thanks.....

Second..... WHY?????????? Why is that (having toggling codes) a good thing?

It is supposed to make it easier and more accurate for the device receiving the IR codes to distinguish between press & hold vs pressing the button repeatedly.

Obviously, this isn't a requirement for IR remotes, but it is what Hauppauge obviously chose to go with, so you just have to be aware of it when teaching the remote's codes to other software.
