That's what i get when starting SageRecorder or SageTV. I am using a WinTV PVR 250 with windows 2000 and drivers verwsion 1.6.20352.
After that the application stop responding and if i endtask it i got a fast BSOD and my pc reboot. Any idea ??? By the way i am a NTSC user. |

The best thing to do clear out the old 1.6.20352 and used the latest and latest beta SageRecorder or SageTV.
see http://www.shspvr.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2140 for instructions on how to do this. Make use you Java 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition 1.4.1.02 |

Let us know if the WinTV application works. That's a good indicator of whether you're having a problem with the card/drivers or with the Sage software.
Thanks,

No good news
I did what i said and made a fresh install of my system with WinXP Pro and install the latest WinTV apps and WinTV2k work just fine. I reinstall SageTV but the same problem Unable to detect MPEG-II video capture card. What the hell i think i just let go my project of using this software for my PVR system.

Are you sure another application is not trying to use the capture card the same time as Sage?
What's listed under A/V Capture Device in Setup for SageRecorder? Thanks,

Looks like the same problem i have.
I have two pc, one with a 250 and one with 350. On the pv with win xp (dutch version) it gives the same results, on the w2k (english version) pc it works. I swapped the cards to see if that makes a difference but it didn't. Wintv2k works flawlesly on both machines

Good to see that i am not alone with this problem. By the way my os is Windows XP Pro French version. Maybe this is a problem related to non english version of the os ? Maybe someone from Frey Tech could give us an advice about that ?

Currently, Sage is dependent upon the name's being in English. We've just become aware this is a problem. This'll be fixed shortly. If there's a way for you make the name's English, then that should resolve the problem in the meantime.
Thanks for your feeback.

That's what i thought after reading reply from other user using non english version of Windows OS so i decided to install Windows XP MCE English and give it a try and guest what now SageTV work just fine.
We are waiting for a fix from you guys but hurry up because Snapstream start alpha testing for supporting WinTV PVR 250 and 350 so i will give it a try and choose the best between the two. See Ya!

How to make the name English ?
OK, so now we've identified the problem. I've got Win2K Dutch installed as well and I'm having the same problem. Suggestion was to make the name English. I assume you mean the name of the Capture Card. I suppose that's hidden somewhere either in the Registry or in some language DLL. Anybody's got a clue where to look ?
