Hauppauge PVR drivers - found new hardware

After upgrading to new drivers over the summer I've started to experience problem where all of the sudden computer would reset itself and after booting it would display GUI found new multimedia hardware, sometimes one PVR-250 would be unlisted but most of the time it would be for both. I thought something was wrong maybe with my motherboard or something, but then in recently I did upgrade to newer drivers and problem is not as frequent as possible. Recently friend of mine also did install drivers and he is also getting those kind of problems. Furthermore you cant point to the drivers when it asks you to it because if you do it will tell you that there is a problem with that card and drivers cannot be installed.

By the way I have two PVR-250's hooked up to my system and both of them seems to be rev 16 cards

Does anyone else experience the same kind of problem?
Does anyone know what is the solution to this problem?

Thank you so much.

Chris

I have seen the new multimedia hardware messages when I have to reboot due to hangs. I have learned to ignore the message, I just restart the system again. When the system comes up the second time the messages do not appear and everything is OK. I have no idea what causes the problem.

Hmm, I never tried that, what I was doing at those situations was using Win XP recovery to go back to a good restore point.

Thanks for the coment, but it is so strange... it did start to happen when I upgraded drivers for the card.

I was having a similar problem with my PVR 350 till I installed the latest driver on the Hauppauge site. Working fine now.
