Can I add an X-card to my pvr-350 system?

Hi all

I'm really enjoying my brand new Sage TV + PVR-350 setup. I love the PQ of the tv-out of the 350, and I've had decent reliability unlike some.

I want to add divx support though, without batch converting my files. I have a DVD player that supports mpeg-4 and divx, and although I bought a brand new 200 gig hard disk just for sage, I would like to use divx/mpeg 4 as my default record method, and then burn those files to DVD.

Can I add an x-card to my sage setup? I understand sage does NOT support the x-card tv-out, but does sage support the x-card for recording in mpeg4/divx? I'm thinking that if both would work in the same system in sage then adding an X-card would just be like adding another tuner (which I'm considering anyways) and allow me to record in mpeg 4 at least half the time as well. Then later if sage added x-card tv-out support, I could switch to that, OR I could switch to tv-edia or something later on if sage didn't add support.

Can anyone help? thx

Cory

The XCard is not an encoder; it is a decoder only.

SageTV can use it to play mpeg2 files through its TV out, but it does not display the UI on the TV through it. You also cannot use SageTV to play DVDs on the XCard nor will it currently play DivX files.

Thanks Opus. I was wondering why their specs list didn't quite make sense, I thought I was just reading it wrong
