Adjusting Individual Settings for Recording Qualities
Hello, I am very interested in this Sage Tv software. The problem is that when I choose to record in Great, or best modes the picture and audio are fine--however the audio is not compatable with my video editing software (adobe premier elements). Therefore I am curious as to wether or not I can adjust individual settings for the Qulaity setting "Best" or others? Curious if I can adjust and manipulate the parameters that go into making that setting "Best" so I can choose a compatible audio format while maintaining the best video quality?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Brett R. Hickman |

Appendix H in the SageTV manual has a short blurb about customizing the recording qualities and has a link to the SageTV Configuration site, which contains a link to a text file called: Hauppauge Cards & Recording Quality.
Don't forgt to check the v2.1 manual, though, because you now only need to modify/add a single property (mmc/python2_encoding) for those custom qualities. See your existing properties file to quality settings to start with. - Andy

The properties file referred to is located in your SageTV directory; close SageTV completely before making any changes, or they will be overwritten & not used.

GREAT! Well I'm on my way toward progress but I hit a problem.. You see to be more specific, I am trying to maintain the best possible video quality using the dvd settings, yet decrease the audio sampling rate from 48000 to 44100. Yet even though I add the fields instructed to me in the 2.1 guide (since I have sagetv 2.1) and change the sampling stream from 48 to 44.1, and setting the record options in Sage TV to the new recording profile, it still records in 48khz.
Note: I did completely shuit down sagetv before making any changes. All changes were saved properly (however I probably didn't modify the changes properly. lol) Thanks for your help in this matter. Brett |

Oh -- and I see that text file was updated for v2.1 changes.
If you are using the service, you stopped it too? Did you make a copy of the setting to be changed, or did you change the original? The new quality setting's name is appearing in SageTV, right? Other than that, I'll leave specific settings details to someone like SHS who probably knows those details much better. - Andy
