my guide is all messed up
not really totally messed up, just an hour off...my clock was off by an hour, so i thought that was the problem...i fixed it, but the problem remains
that means i can't record any shows...for example, the 10pm News is showing in the guide as 9pm...the time in Sage is correct and matches my system clock, but the guide is off Last edited by -LD; 06-12-2003 at 06:52 PM. |

Are you using XMLTV data?

just double checked by looking at the xmltv plugin...i definitely have not set that up...xmltv works fine on it's own though for gathering info (i use it for the EPG in mHTPC)

any ideas?
on the upside, i did a recording of just a random program with the scheduler, and though it was off an hour because of the scheduler problem, i am very pleased with the quality...and i never hit more than 3% with SageTV in sleep that is very nice |

The only thing I can think of are to delete the wiz.bin and .bak files (while Sage isn't running) then run program and go through setup again. Otherwise it might be time to uninstall and reinstall. And make sure your time and timezone are correct.

So, if I understand you correctly, you are only using the xmltv plugin for myHTPC and haven't hooked it into SageTV at all? This meaning that you went through the Setup Wizard and chose your zip code (or another to re-map channels) and that populated the Guide.

yes...i read through the XMLTV plugin info for SageTV and i definitely haven't set that up...i used the default SageTV service in the setup wizard...entered a zip code, chose my provider, chose my channels
the thing is, whenever i do that from scratch it resets my system clock an hour behind which is weird |

i will give it a try...hopefully it works
other than being an hour off and having weird show names, the app is working beautifully...getting really good test results with recordings |

this is really starting to get frustrating
SageTV is resetting my Windows time! has anyone got any idea what is going on or how to fix it? my BIOS clock is correct, my Windows XP time is correct Sage resets my Windows time as well as has the guide an hour off |

success!
this is so stupid and so simple that it was hard as hell to figure out somewhere along the line i must have intentionally or unintentionally unchecked "Automatically Adjust for Daylight Savings" in the WinXP time properties i do have my system auto-update using the built-in time sync feature of WinXP...but, for whatever reason, it has been failing for god knows how long so it never adjusted my clock to be off by one hour since i didn't have the daylight savings option checked (-5GMTT instead of -6GMT) when running SageTV it apparently uses the settings of the Windows clock...it was trying to adjust the time (which would put me an hour off)...that also explained why the guide was off...basically, Sage is smarter than Microsoft when i checked the auto adjust option and reran the SageGuide setup all was well, my windows clock stayed at its time, the guide is correct, and i can sync to timeserver successfully i hate microsoft |
