CPU 100% whenever I enable IR reciever
I have a new USB-UIRT and whenever I enable it as a reciever the CPU LOAD pegs out and stays their making the computer unusable. It does not return to normal until I set the option back to none.
I am using the same USB-UIRT to control my STB. |

I think I fixed.
Had to unistall the usbuirt drivers. Then unplug it, reboot, plug it back in, and then reinstall the drivers. |

Guess I am the only one interested in this thread
Well I think I figured out what is happening. I had SageTV setup to run as a service. I also had it controlling a STB box using the USB-UIRT. Then when the client tried to use the USB-UIRT, I am assuming it got stuck in a loop waiting for access that it would never get since the service process already had it. Cause if I run it NOT in service mode, I have no issues. So does my guess of what is happening correct? If so, is there any way to use SageTV as a service and have the USB-UIRT work both as blaster and reciever? |

What version of SageTV are you using? Have you tried it with the latest beta (v2.2.1 currently) & if so, have you reported this to Frey?

Have not reported it to Frey yet, was trying to see if it was truly a bug or user error. |

Since you mentioned that the problem seems to only occur when running the service, I'd recommend contacting Frey support, since there seems to be a lot of klinkers with that service idea being reported in many other posts.
Use the link in Opus4's post above for requesting support. |

I justed submitted a support request.
So I am guessing you guess do not have a similiar setup? I would think it is not that unusual of a setup. |

Alright lastnight I got a message back from frey support about the problem.
They were able to find a solution for me, I should have tried this. Basically the Service has to run as the same user as the client is running as. Since the default is Local System the client was not running as that user. |
