Did hovering over system tray icon change in 2.1?

In the past, if I hovered my mouse over the Sage icon in the system tray near the clock, it would tell me what is currently being recorded.

It no longer seems to be doing that in verison 2.1. Is that because it's running as a service now, or was it something that was moved to a menu on/off type of thing that I can't find?

TIA,

Steve

Yes, that is because it is running as a service. The UI is acting as a client & I don't believe that ever had a pop-up that showed what was being record... though I sure would like it to do so.

As far as I know, SageTV (server) will still show that if run in non-service mode, but it is not something I've recently tried.

Yeah I also would like to see when the service is recording
if I start up the service's client UI
I get a 100% CPU usage during the loading and it causes a skip in the recording
not a playback issue
I really like running the service but I do not want to damage my recordings

I had a similar problem with 100% usage on the SERVER runing in SERVICE MODE. I was getting a 100% usage on my server and I narrowed it down to one client PC. When it was connected the server spiked at 100% but when I disconnected it by turning off SageTV Client on the Client PC the SERVER would slowly return to less then 10%. The only thing that worked in my case was a total reinstall of the operating system and SageTV 2.1 client on the client machine. So having something showing in the system tray when recording on the SERVER would be a big plus for me. In case this happens again.

not really what I was referring to
I meant the client that runs with the service on the same computer
while it loads it hits 100% for a second only but I always get a stutter in video at that point

But Frey should have plenty of time to fix this since they will not be supporting Studio for us imcompetent, average users

I am no longer running Sage 2.1 as a service, but I do believe the hovering worked fine (and showed what's being recorded, if any) the few days I ran 2.1 as a service.

Now I am running 2.1 as a "non-service" (for lack of a better word) ... and the hovering definitely works as before.

I have the service running now with the UI active & 2 shows are recording. While sleeping, the icon does not show what is recording -- as I said above, it is acting as a client and only displays "SageTV" when you hover the mouse over it.
